Okay, Here I go again... Tired of getting frustrated by things not working the way it is showcased on the ads... Yes my friend, you're indeed correct, this NAS supports M3U playlists, but with a twist... Problem is, it uses an incredible media server called twonky media that is increasingly becoming the leader on its segment, but, included in the NAS is an outdated version, namely 4.4.9, as we already have the 4.4.11 and the 5.0.46 available in the site... Check for yourself... just type in your browser your media hub friendly name followed by :9000 and you can check this info... ow, and I could not find any update options either... old software running right is good enough for me, but that's not the case as I've talked to a twonky media representative that said this is a KNOWN ISSUE of this software and it would be addressed in the next update (as it was, for I bought the newer version from the web site and all of a sudden, my playlists were working properly)... but I should not be buying any additional software to enable a thing I ALREADY HAVE purchased so I came back to the old one to try and figure out a solution to share... and here it goes... are u familiarized with m3u playlists? so, as you're well aware, they're a text file with an #EXTINF: line addressing the song you want to be played... all u have to do is open the file in notepad and erase everything after the number written in the #EXTINF line.. Example, if your line looks like this: #EXTINF:356,Thelonious Monk - I Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good) ..\Music\Thelonious Monk\Thelonious Monk Plays Duke Ellington\3 - I Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good).mp3 #EXTINF:193,Gerry Mulligan Quartet - Bark For Barksdale - Gerry Mulligan Quartet ..\Music\Gerry Mulligan Quartet\With Chubby Jackson Big Band\04 - Bark For Barksdale - Gerry Mulligan Quartet.mp3 #EXTINF:209,Gerry Mulligan Quartet - I May Be Wrong - Chubby Jackson Big Band ..\Music\Gerry Mulligan Quartet\With Chubby Jackson Big Band\13 - I May Be Wrong - Chubby Jackson Big Band.mp3 it should look like this: #EXTINF:356 ..\Music\Thelonious Monk\Thelonious Monk Plays Duke Ellington\3 - I Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good).mp3 #EXTINF:193 ..\Music\Gerry Mulligan Quartet\With Chubby Jackson Big Band\04 - Bark For Barksdale - Gerry Mulligan Quartet.mp3 #EXTINF:209 ..\Music\Gerry Mulligan Quartet\With Chubby Jackson Big Band\13 - I May Be Wrong - Chubby Jackson Big Band.mp3 #EXTINF:180 ..\Music\Duke Ellington\1950 - Piano Duets w. B. Strayhorn\5 - Tonk.MP3 Surprise :smileyhappy: your playlists are magically available in any UPnP device u can grasp Tested on - DENON AVR-5308-CI, DENON networked UPnP/DLNA iPod dock, WMP 11, Nero ShowTime UPnP client, Mac Mini Front Row, PS3 and Xbox 360... Now tell me my friend, should we be doing this manually? Think about it...
